Following the success of his sale last year, local artist and church member Jeremy Daynes has kindly offered to sell a selection of his works at a greatly reduced price, with all proceeds going to Holy Trinity church. Christmas is coming! Yes we are fast approaching that time of year. We are planning to hold two Christmas Sales immediately after our 10:30 service: Sunday 4th and Sunday 11th December. On sale will be knitwear, jams and chutney, paintings, jewellery (great ideas for Christmas presents), Christmas cards and of course our home-baked cakes and mince pies. Who can resist! If you are able to bake cakes or make things for any of the sale days, that would be great. More details to follow but in the meantime, get your thinking caps......

On Sunday 16th October we shall be holding a Gift Day. (This is a separate appeal from our regular giving.) The Church Council has set a target of 20,000€ to cover the extra expenses we shall face during the “vacancy”. These will include: advertising for a new chaplain travel costs for interviews refurbishing the chaplain’s apartment removals costs costs of “locum” ministers who will serve here during the vacancy Please pray about how much you should donate on 16th October. * Your giving to the church can bring you tax relief....

Our Harvest Thanksgiving will be on Sunday 18th September at 10:30am. This will be a family service and the children will remain in church. As in previous years, please bring gifts of non-perishable food which will be given to Bras Ouverts, an association which provides for those in need locally. Our cash offerings will go to the Barnabas Fund to bring relief to Christian refugees in the Middle East....

Our chaplain Giles Williams has announced that he will be retiring at the end of November. This means a vacancy until we find a new chaplain. The church council has already met with Richard Bromley, director of our patrons the Intercontinental Church Society, to discuss the steps that will need to be taken. We are grateful that ICS and our archdeacon Peter Hooper will be supporting the church, and specifically the church council through the process.
