ECO CHURCH

The Bible has a lot to say about God’s creation and his care for it. Eco Church is a project to help churches demonstrate that they also care for God’s world. It’s run by A Rocha UK (A Rocha is a Christian conservation organisation which started in Portugal: A Rocha is Portuguese for ‘The Rock’) and aims to help churches not just to think about what they are doing to look after God’s world but to get involved in practical ways in caring for it.

Churches complete the unique online Eco Survey about how they are caring for God’s earth in different areas of their life and work. The answers a church provides will collect points towards an Eco Church Award.

Holy Trinity Cannes signed up to the scheme in September 2018. We can already say ‘yes’ to many questions in the survey and we hope to take actions which will lead to us being able to do more.

The picture left shows some of the questions in the survey we’ve already answered ‘yes’ to: Dual-flush toilets save water; recycling bin; ‘real’ cups instead of plastic ones; our toilets are all twinned!
