Well, we are packed and just about ready to go! We leave Sunday morning after the church service at school and a quick lunch. We have prepared a couple of beautiful hymns to sing before we go.
It has been an incredible trip. The children here are loving and generous of spirit. It has been a pleasure to be among them. In the past week, we have constructed ten hand-washing devices outside toilets in farming homes, made countless wall charts, helped with classes and at the Medical Centre and visited a 19 year-old young man called Philip, with spina bifida and cerebral palsy. He never gets out of his home, as he is too heavy to carry and they live too far from the road.
One thing that has really gladdened us, is that we are buying vitamin D tablets for a little two year old boy called Frank, who has rickets. The doctor has told us, that with these tablets plus normal sunlight, his legs should straighten out as he grows. He is an incredibly happy little chap and it will be so hard to leave him, along with all the other children.
Our twice-daily prayer time had been growing ever stronger and the children are now much more confident about praying aloud than before.
We will be back in church next Sunday and we will be thrilled to talk to you about this very special trip, which will perhaps have a long-lasting effect on many of us.
God bless you,
Claire xxx
