Over 60 people from the Anglican fellowships along the Riviera, from Menton to Marseilles, meet on Ascension Day for a service at the home of Peter and Shirley Massey in Lorgues. The Lorgues and Montauroux fellowships (of which Peter is the chaplain), were well represented, as well as Monaco, Cannes and St Raphael.

The service was led by Peter and Chris Walley, with Bishop Michael Marshall preaching. In his capacity as area dean, Giles re-licensed Bob Hurley, the chaplain of Grenoble, who was supported by half a dozen of his congregation who had made the long journey for the occasion.

A bring and share lunch in the garden followed the service, when everyone was urged to sit with people they didn’t know. It was a great time to get to know other people, over some excellent food. Though the clouds were threatening, the rain held off until nearly everyone was gone, and until the final chairs were being put away!
